Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a joint phone call with President of France Emmanuel Macron, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer, and Federal Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz, as diplomatic efforts intensify around the emerging U.S. plan aimed at ending Russia’s full-scale invasion.
According to the Ukrainian Presidency, Zelenskyy thanked the three European leaders for their “principled support for Ukraine and for all our people.”The conversation focused on the proposed peace framework “for Ukraine and for all of Europe.”
The leaders reaffirmed that they value the efforts of the United States, President Donald Trump, and his team to push for an end to the war, and confirmed they are actively reviewing the document circulated by Washington. As Kyiv emphasizes, any agreement must “ensure a real and dignified peace.”
Zelenskyy, Macron, Starmer, and Merz discussed how to ensure that Ukraine’s fundamental positions are fully reflected in ongoing negotiations. The four leaders coordinated next steps and agreed their teams would continue working jointly “at the corresponding levels” to shape the document in a way that protects European and Ukrainian security interests.

The President expressed gratitude for the U.S. delegation’s attention to Ukraine’s concerns and their readiness to continue working closely with Kyiv and European partners.
Zelenskyy and Vice President Vance agreed that Ukraine, the United States, and Europe will continue negotiations at the level of national security and political advisers to determine whether the proposed pathway toward peace is viable and workable in practice.
Ukraine, the statement notes, has always respected President Donald Trump’s stated intention to end the bloodshed and “positively views every realistic proposal.”
Both sides agreed to remain in constant contact, with their teams prepared to work “24/7.”
