In Kyiv, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. Special Envoy General Keith Kellogg to discuss security cooperation and efforts toward peace. Zelenskyy thanked Kellogg for visiting Ukraine and for his role at recent international meetings, highlighting strong bipartisan U.S. support.
Zelenskyy addressed Russia’s intensified attacks, noting over 330 missiles and 5,000 drones launched at Ukraine in June alone. Discussions focused on strengthening Ukraine’s air defense, the potential purchase of American systems, joint drone production, and direct U.S. procurement of Ukrainian UAVs.
They also talked about sanctions, including a bipartisan Senate bill with broad support, and stressed the need to maintain pressure on Russia. Both underscored shared goals of achieving a just and lasting peace through coordinated diplomatic and military support.
