In a significant visit to Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, alongside the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, highlighted the dual focus of Ukraine's efforts amidst ongoing conflict: education and security.

The visit, which coincided with the start of the new school year, featured the launch of "Mriia," an educational application akin to Ukraine's Diia but tailored for the education sector. This tool is designed to support students, teachers, and parents, symbolizing Ukraine’s commitment to advancing education even during wartime.

Zelenskyy emphasized that despite the war, Ukraine continues to develop and introduce new initiatives. He acknowledged the efforts of the Mriia team and Ukrainian educators, stressing the importance of their roles in strengthening the country’s educational system.

The President also outlined recent government measures to enhance school safety and support. This includes the construction of shelters, provision of school buses, and the introduction of a program guaranteeing free meals for primary school children. He reiterated the need for strict implementation of the Safe School program, which aims to ensure secure learning environments across the nation.

In discussions with the Dutch Prime Minister, Zelenskyy focused on strengthening Ukraine’s defense capabilities, including the need for advanced air defense systems, F-16 fighter jets, and other military support. The meeting also resulted in a new aid package from the Netherlands and discussions about the Netherlands taking a patronage role in Zaporizhzhia, contributing to infrastructure, safety, and humanitarian needs.

Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the Netherlands and its leaders for their continued support, recognizing their vital role in aiding Ukraine’s defense and recovery efforts.
