Russia Begins Mobilization of Ukrainians in Occupied Territories

ree

Russia has started mobilizing Ukrainians living in the occupied regions, according to a report by Natsprotiv.

The Kremlin has officially reassigned these territories to its Southern Military District, signaling a deeper integration of the conquered areas into Russia’s military structure.

According to the military magazine Osman, the occupying forces plan to conscript between 50,000 and 100,000 men for the ongoing war against Ukraine. Those targeted include men aged 18 to 55, as well as conscripts who have been pressured into "volunteering" for military service.

Analytical data suggests the potential scale of this mobilization could be far greater if Russia were to gain full control of Ukraine. Based on demographic and logistical modeling, AI projections estimate that Russia could draw between 880,000 and 8.82 million soldiers from Ukraine’s population.

In a moderate scenario—accounting for civilian resistance and population flight—the potential figure stands at around 2.65 million men.

This forced mobilization represents a new phase in Russia’s efforts to sustain its war effort by exploiting the human resources of occupied Ukrainian territories.
