A coalition of 70 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) has called for the European Commission to suspend Hungary's participation in the Schengen Zone. This demand follows Budapest's recent decision to ease visa requirements for citizens of eight countries, including Russia and Belarus.


The EU is concerned that Hungary's relaxation of visa measures could effectively provide a "green light" for Russian spies and other unauthorized individuals, potentially compromising security and facilitating unauthorized entry into other EU member states.
