Harris Rallies Supporters in Greenville, NC Ahead of Election Day
Vice President Kamala Harris energized a crowd of 7,000 supporters during a rally in Greenville, North Carolina, as she emphasized the importance of the upcoming election just 23 days away.
Concluding her remarks, Harris highlighted the campaign's commitment to unite citizens regardless of political affiliation.
"I have spoken to both state and local officials, both Republican and Democrat, to let them know we will be with you every step of the way. Because in times like this, we stand together as one nation. That is who we are," she stated, reinforcing a message of bipartisanship.
Harris acknowledged the challenges ahead, stating, "Now listen, I know we are really excited to see each other… but it’s going to be a tight race. Until the very end." She called for hard work from her supporters, assuring them that their efforts could lead to victory.
The Vice President framed the election as a pivotal choice between two visions for America: "His, focused on the past; the other, ours, focused on the future." She criticized former President Donald Trump's leadership, saying, "He has no plan for how he would address the needs of people. He is only focused on himself," prompting chants of “lock him up” from the audience.
Harris also questioned Trump's transparency, noting, "He refuses to release his medical records... It makes you wonder, why does his staff want him to hide away?"
She emphasised the need for leadership that addresses the people's needs, stating, "America is ready to chart a new way forward, ready for a new and optimistic generation of leadership."
Addressing key campaign issues, Harris spoke about her plans for housing, in-home care, and combating price gouging, advocating for what she calls an "opportunity economy." She asserted, "We will move forward. Ours is a fight for the future. And it is a fight for freedom."
Harris underscored the urgency of voting, as early voting in North Carolina begins soon. “Remember always, your vote is your voice and your voice is your power,” she urged her supporters, reinforcing the significance of their participation in the democratic process.
